Important Camp information
CAMP GOODENOUGH
One of the biggest highlights of Term 3 is almost here! This year, our Year 5 and 6 students will be heading to Camp Goodenough in Bilambil, New South Wales.
Set within a naturally regenerating rainforest in the Tweed Valley, Camp Goodenough has been family owned and operated for more than 42 years. The camp program focuses on teamwork, exploration, developing new skills and encouraging students to step outside their comfort zones.
You can find out more about Camp Goodenough.
CAMP DETAILS
Depart: Wednesday, 19 August
Students should arrive at school at 8:45am. The bus will depart at 9:00 am.
Return: Friday, 21 August
We expect to arrive back at the College at approximately 2:15 pm and students may be collected straight away.
Meeting place: The gazebo near the Administration Building.
Students who usually catch the school bus will need to be dropped off on Wednesday morning and collected on Friday afternoon, as travelling on the school bus with camp luggage may be difficult.

WHY CAMP MATTERS
Camp is an important part of the Year 5 and 6 program and connects with several areas of the curriculum while developing valuable life skills.
Students will have opportunities to build independence, strengthen friendships, work as a team and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. It is an expectation that all Year 5 and 6 students attend and participate in camp activities.
If there is a legitimate reason or special consideration that may prevent your child from attending, please contact Mr Stevens, Head of Primary.

MEDICATION
If your child requires medication while on camp, please ensure this information is recorded in TASS and on the required camp forms.
On the morning of departure, all clearly labelled medication should be handed directly to your child's classroom teacher. Please ensure dosage and frequency instructions are included.
Medication will be securely stored and administered by two staff members.
PACKING FOR CAMP
Please carefully check the camp packing list when preparing your child's bag. Students are expected to bring all required items, as teachers will not have spare clothing or equipment available.
Please ensure that:
- All belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
- Students use a bag they can carry themselves.
- No cameras or mobile phones are packed.
- No snacks, lollies or sweets are packed.
- The packing list is checked carefully before leaving home.
- Suitcases are not used, as students will need to carry their bags down several long staircases.
