Tomorrow Night – TMC 30 Year Anniversary Gala
The countdown is almost over! Tomorrow evening, we come together as a community to celebrate 30 years of Tamborine Mountain College at our spectacular Anniversary Gala.
Guests will enjoy an unforgettable night filled with fine dining, live entertainment, and the chance to win from over $25,000 worth of incredible prizes. The highlight of the evening will be our major prize, a $10,000 Invisalign Package proudly sponsored by our friends at Medland Orthodontics.
We are deeply grateful to Medland Orthodontics for their extraordinary generosity, as well as to all our prize sponsors, whose support has helped us make this milestone celebration truly special. Your contribution ensures that this Gala will be a night to remember for our College community.
As we raise our glasses tomorrow night, we will not only honour our history but also look forward with excitement to the next 30 years of TMC.
An Artistic Journey into STEM
Across our campus Prep-12 during Science Week, we had an outpouring of artistic talent from our entries into the Stile Colouring Competition. The competition theme was based on the upcoming ALEPH mission of 2026, where a capsule containing plants and seeds (called a "lunarium") will be sent to the Moon. It will be specially designed to monitor their growth for one week, with the objective of determining if plants can live outside our planet Earth and hence answer the question "How do we feed an off-world colony?"
In addition to the students entering the National Competition run by Stile, TMC also wanted to recognise some of our budding artists with an interest in STEM. Our winners were:
Maisie K (Year 1)
Charlotte P (Year 3)
Morrissey B (Year 5)
Pippa W (Year 7)
Grace L (Year 10)
Koby B (Year 11)
Please see some photos below of our amazing students and their entries into the competition.

National Skills Week 2025 – “Explore All the Options”
This year, National Skills Week will be held from 25–31 August 2025, with the theme “Explore All the Options”. The week is a nationwide initiative that shines a spotlight on the many pathways available through vocational education and training (VET) and celebrates the talents, skills, and career opportunities it provides.
The theme encourages students to keep an open mind about their futures and to explore the wide variety of options available beyond the traditional routes. From trades and apprenticeships to emerging industries, creative fields, and advanced technologies, there has never been a more exciting time to discover different pathways to success.
This week at TMC, we have showcased National Skills Week by having a guest speaker from TAFE Queensland come and discuss options with year 9 students for 2026 and beyond. Mrs Parker-Browne has had many different work experience opportunities available, and the Expressions of Interest for TAFE at School Programs for next year have now opened. We are also continuing our SET Planning process with year 9s and 10s by discussing subject selections for next year.
Parents and carers are encouraged to talk with their children about their interests and strengths, and to support them in exploring a variety of future pathways.
National Skills Week is a wonderful reminder that there is no single way to achieve success—whether through university, TAFE, apprenticeships, or direct entry into the workforce, every path has value. Together, let’s celebrate the skills that shape our future and encourage our students to explore all the options!

Year 10 Science
On Tuesday the Year 10 VAL Science class did a DNA extraction experiment. I have included some photos, feel free to use them or select a few. I will write a little blurb below:
As part of their Biology unit on DNA, RNA, and inheritance, Year 10 Science students conducted a hands-on DNA extraction experiment using blueberries. Working through each step of the process, they were able to break down the cells and isolate visible strands of DNA, bringing textbook theory to life in the lab. The activity not only deepened their understanding of genetics but also sparked curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of excitement as students saw science in action.

A Wonderful Book Week – Thank You P&F!
What a fantastic Book Week we’ve just enjoyed at TMC!
A very special thank you goes to our amazing P&F and the wonderful parent helpers who supported the Book Fair last week. You were absolute troopers, giving your time and energy to help make the week such a success, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, together we sold $5,755.25 worth of books and stationery. This incredible total means that Scholastic will provide the College with a $1,726.50 credit towards Primary classroom resources. What a brilliant way to give back to our students and their learning!
We are so grateful for our P&F and College community for the way you rally behind events like this. Book Week is always a highlight, and your support ensures it’s both a joyful celebration of reading and a meaningful boost for our classrooms.
Thank you once again, you truly make a difference!
