A Proud Addition to Our College Community
Tamborine Mountain College was honoured to welcome Jon Krause MP to the College recently for a special presentation ceremony.
During his visit, Mr Krause presented a brand-new Queensland Flag to Principal Fiona Stevens and College Captains, Jorgia and Jack, marking a meaningful moment for our College community.
The presentation serves as a wonderful reminder of the pride we take in our state, our local community, and the values of leadership, service, and integrity that we strive to instil in our students each day. As a College, we are committed to developing young people who contribute positively to society and embrace opportunities to lead with purpose and character.
We extend our sincere thanks to Jon Krause MP for taking the time to visit the College and for this thoughtful contribution. The Queensland Flag will be proudly displayed at future College events, assemblies, and ceremonies, serving as a symbol of our connection to the wider Queensland community and the values we hold dear.

Years 7 & 8 Readers Cup
Congratulations to our Years 7/8 Readers Cup team who represented TMC at the Gold Coast Readers Cup Competition on Wednesday evening.
Competing against 15 other schools, Lily, Oriel, Elizabeth and Ava demonstrated excellent teamwork, enthusiasm, and a genuine love of reading throughout the event. They worked together brilliantly, tackled challenging questions with confidence, and represented our school with pride.
We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the positive way they conducted themselves on the night. Congratulations to these students not only for their commitment to the competition but also for embracing one of the most beneficial habits for academic success. Regular reading helps to develop vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking, and general knowledge, while also fostering imagination and a lifelong love of learning. Their enthusiasm for reading is something to be celebrated, and we commend them for recognising the value that reading can bring to their education and future success. Well done!

TMC Students Invited to Join Exciting New Junior Bowls Opportunity
The Tamborine Mountain Lawn Bowls Club is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative aimed at encouraging young people to get involved in the sport of lawn bowls.
Following the recent training of three junior bowls coaches, the Club is now preparing to launch a junior development program designed to build skills, confidence, and participation among local students.
As a prelude to this program, the Club is inviting Tamborine Mountain College students to take part in an annual competition delivered through Bowls Queensland, the Qld Secondary Schools Cup. This competition is specifically designed to encourage participation from school students who may not have previously played lawn bowls, making it a fantastic introductory opportunity.
Students who choose to participate will receive dedicated coaching and support from the Club’s newly trained junior coaches in the lead-up to the competition, ensuring they feel confident, prepared, and ready to enjoy the experience.
This initiative represents a valuable opportunity for students to try a new sport, develop new skills, and engage with the wider local sporting community in a fun and supportive environment.
Year 10 Immunisations
A reminder that Immunisations for Year 10 are being held on Tuesday 16th June.
Students NOT receiving immunisations will stay in class with their teacher.

HIA Soccer Competition Scores Big Despite the Weather
The weather may have been wet, but it certainly didn't dampen the teamwork and community spirit on display at the HIA Soccer Competition, proudly hosted by Tamborine Mountain College at the Long Road Sporting Complex.
Our Year 5 and 6 students represented the College with pride in mixed gender teams, demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the day. Despite the challenging conditions, students embraced every opportunity to compete, support one another, and enjoy the experience of interschool sport.
We congratulate all participating students on the positive way they represented Tamborine Mountain College, both on and off the field.
A special thank you goes to our Parents & Friends President, Bodean, and her dedicated team of volunteers, who provided a fantastic food station that kept players and spectators fueled throughout the day. We also extend our sincere thanks to our wonderful staff, families, and the visiting schools whose support and enthusiasm helped make the event such a success.
While the rain may have made an appearance, it certainly didn't stop the fun. The day was a wonderful celebration of sport, friendship, and community spirit, proving once again that at TMC, a little mountain rain only makes us play harder!

Equestrian Success at Warwick Qualifier
Our Tamborine Mountain College Equestrian Team continues to make us proud, with students once again showcasing their talent, dedication, and sportsmanship in competition. We are also grateful for the ongoing support of our valued sponsors, Professionals Tamborine Mountain, whose partnership helps our riders pursue their equestrian goals.
Over the weekend, Audrey-May travelled to Warwick to compete in the Scots PCQ Extravaganza Interschool Qualifier, where she delivered an outstanding performance across multiple events.
Audrey-May achieved first place in the Secondary 1m–1.10m Showjumping Class riding her new pony, Surreyholme Braxton (Brax), and was also named Reserve Champion in the Secondary 90cm–1m Showjumping Class aboard Second Edition (Mya).
These exceptional results have secured Audrey-May’s qualification to represent Tamborine Mountain College later this month, an achievement that reflects her hard work, commitment, and skill in the arena.
Congratulations, Audrey-May, on this fantastic accomplishment. We look forward to cheering you on as you continue your equestrian journey and proudly represent TMC at the next level.
