School Locker update
School Locker advise that the Loganholme store is scheduled to reopen on Friday 24th May.
As they transition each school back into the store, they anticipate there may be longer than usual delivery times for online orders.
School Locker also note that due to the weather damage which closed the store, some College uniform items are now out of stock. They are working with their suppliers to ensure that these items will be back online and in-store as soon as possible.

Gold Coast Careers Festival
Last Friday the year 10 cohort travelled to the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium for the annual Gold Coast Careers Festival. The festival is held by the Gold Coast City Council and is a great opportunity for students to speak to local training providers, universities, and employers. Students were able to get information on local employment and training opportunities including university and TAFE pathways and learn about pathways to the Australian Defence Forces and the Queensland Police.

Year 5 Camp Adventure at Lake Ainsworth, Lennox Head
Our Year 5 students went on an unforgettable adventure at Lake Ainsworth in Lennox Head, NSW, dipping themselves in a variety of exciting activities and valuable learning experiences. From stand-up paddleboarding on the lake to snorkelling in the chilly ocean, where they encountered fascinating marine life including an octopus, a turtle, and an array of fish who also formed a wonderful backdrop as they leapt out of the water the whole time we were there.
On the beautiful beach, the students engaged in competitive beach games, showcasing teamwork and enthusiasm through tug of war, inventive bucket-filling challenges, and spirited ball games. The campfires crackled as they bonded over cooking and enjoying delicious damper with honey, while the thrill of conquering a rock wall and the exhilaration of archery tag added an extra layer of excitement to their experience.
Throughout the trip, our students demonstrated admirable qualities such as leadership, resilience, empathy, bravery, and encouragement, enriching not only their own experiences but also fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all. It was truly an extraordinary journey filled with wonderful memories and valuable lessons that will resonate with them for years to come.
The year 5 camp teacher team,
Ms Sarah Molloy, Ms Kristy Jewel, Mrs Kelly Lewis and Mr Robert Schönherr.
Year 4 Excursion
Year 4 is thrilled to share the wonderful experience our students had during their recent excursion to Esme Environmental Park in collaboration with our friends at Tamborine Mountain Landcare. This adventure provided an enriching opportunity for our students to delve into the marvels of a regenerated rainforest.
Just a few years back, Esme Environmental Park faced significant challenges. It was a former swampy area, depleted of its original trees due to logging activities. However, through the dedication of local community members and Landcare volunteers, notably Mrs. McLeod, the park underwent a remarkable transformation. Today, it stands as a thriving riparian zone, brimming with biodiversity.
During the excursion, our students had the chance to explore the various layers of the rainforest ecosystem. They were guided by wonderful parent volunteers and Landcare experts, who shared insights into the resilience of Pioneer Plants, the intricate Root Systems that support the forest, and the essential Nutrient Cycle that sustains life within the ecosystem. Through engaging activities and hands-on learning, our students gained a deeper appreciation for the delicate balance of nature.
Experiences like these are invaluable in shaping the environmental consciousness of our students. By fostering a connection to nature and nurturing a sense of responsibility for its preservation, we empower our students to become advocates for positive change.

Year 3 Excursion
On Wednesday, the Year 3 students had an unforgettable time exploring Jellurgal Aboriginal and Cultural Centre in Burleigh Heads. We had the privilege of watching and learning traditional Aboriginal dances, which was a real treat! After that, we took a stroll around the Burleigh Headland, checking out and learning about significant Indigenous sites like Jabreen's Fingers and learning about the significance of ochre in Indigenous culture. Some students even got to experience having their faces painted with ochre! It was extremely special to see nature and history coming together. We were so lucky that the weather was gorgeous as this made the views from the headland even more spectacular. We finished our day with a lovely lunch on the banks of the Tallebudgera Creek. A big Year 3 Thank You goes out to Mrs Bentall, Mrs Rabjones, Mrs Collett-Parker and Mrs Woods (our fabulous parents helpers) and Mr Shier and Mrs Mickleson!
