Why futsal is valuable for students
Futsal is a fast-paced and exciting sport that gives every player plenty of opportunities to participate. Because it is played on a smaller court with fewer players, children receive more touches on the ball and remain actively involved throughout the game.
Futsal can help students develop:
- Confidence and self-belief
- Teamwork and communication
- Coordination, balance, speed and fitness
- Quick thinking and decision-making
- Ball control, passing and movement
- Resilience and problem-solving skills
- Friendships and positive social connections
For students who already play outdoor football, futsal is one of the best ways to continue improving during the off-season. The skills developed through futsal transfer directly into football and can help players return to their outdoor clubs next season sharper, more confident and more comfortable on the ball.
It is also a great opportunity for children who may not currently belong to a sporting club to become active, meet new people and experience being part of a team.
Players do not need an existing team
Students can enter as a complete team with school friends, football teammates or family members.
They can also register individually without having a team. Our friendly games and information sessions are designed to help players meet others, form teams and find a suitable competition for their age and experience.
Students are welcome to join one competition or play at more than one venue if they would like additional games and further development opportunities.

Further playing opportunities
Our club competitions also provide players with the opportunity to progress into future Logan City Vikings or Scenic Rim Berserkers teams.
Players who demonstrate commitment, improvement, teamwork and a positive attitude may have opportunities to represent their region and continue progressing through the Australian Futsal Association pathway.
While these opportunities are exciting, our main goal is to provide every child with a supportive environment where they can enjoy playing, improve their skills, build confidence and make new friends.
