I invite our Tamborine Mountain College students, families, staff and friends to join our College team at the 2026 Gold Coast Marathon.

We are proud to be entering a team once again under the name TMC Legends, building on the wonderful sense of community we experienced last year. In 2025, Mr O’Neill, our Student Welfare Coordinator, took on the full marathon, proudly representing TMC and inspiring many across the College to set a personal goal and give it a go. This year, I have signed up to run the 10 km, and I would love to share the experience alongside members of our College community.

There are also opportunities to be involved without running. Last year, I volunteered at the Bag Drop for the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, and it was a rewarding way to contribute to the event and support an important local cause. Taking part, whether as a runner, walker, jogger or volunteer, is a great way for families to build healthy habits together and enjoy being part of a positive and inclusive community experience.

Mathspace is an online learning platform used in Years 3-12 at Tamborine Mountain College. Mathspace is hosting a webinar for parents and carers to show how you and your child can use our platform to track their progressive mathematical learning.

The sessions will cover: 

* finding and completing work assigned by your child’s teacher 

* the skills map and how it tracks your child’s progress so you can celebrate growth in mathematical understanding 

* recommended tasks that target the prior skills needed to excel at class work 

* signing up for weekly emails on your child’s progress 

*updates to the student workbook to keep your child progressing through their work including our new AI Tutor, Milo

To help ensure the safety and efficiency of our school community, we kindly remind all families of the correct procedures when using the designated pick-up and drop-off zones.

Pick-Up Zone in the Afternoon
These bays are strictly for families collecting children who are already waiting in the pick-up area. If your child is not yet there, please circulate or park elsewhere until they are ready to be collected.

2-Minute Efficiency
The pick-up/drop-off zone is designed for a quick exchange only. Please remain in your vehicle and keep the line moving. Enter the zone only if your child/ren are visible and ready to be collected to avoid unnecessary congestion.

Enter/Exit from the Left

For safety reasons, all students must enter and exit the vehicle from the left-hand side only—this ensures they are stepping directly onto the footpath and not into traffic.

Safety First

• No parking or waiting is permitted in the drop-off/pick-up zone.
• Drive slowly (max 10 km/h), stay alert and courteous. 
• Students should enter and exit from the left-hand side of the vehicle.

Calling all Year 7-12 STEM enthusiasts! This year we are launching STEM Club as an after school club, held on Thursday each week from 3-3.50pm during the usual tutorial timeslot for Thursday. If your child is keen for STEM subjects and looking to learn more and take part in hands-on projects that foster a love of STEM, they can see Mrs Andrews to sign up for the program. It starts in Week 3 and spots are limited.

The Pre-Prep children have begun the year with excitement as they meet new friends, learn about our ELC, and discover where our centre is situated on Tamborine Mountain. As part of our All About Me learning, we shared an Acknowledgement of Country and learned the name of the Country of the First Nations people of the Mountain, (Wanggeriburra) reflecting on the beautiful place we call home.

We explored what makes Tamborine Mountain special, sharing our own experiences of places of interest.  The children loved talking about waterfalls, talking about big rocks, animals, birds, lookouts, and even the ice-cream shop! These conversations helped us build connections to our local environment and to each other.

One of our most meaningful experiences was taking part in Show and Share. At the ELC, we see each child and recognise that everyone is capable. For many children, the first big step was simply standing in front of the group, an amazing achievement. Many were then able to confidently talk about what was inside their All About Me bags, showing growing confidence, communication skills, and pride in who they are. 💛   

Our Belonging Tree now stands proudly in the classroom as a reminder that everyone is valued, respected, and has a place here. Through these experiences, children are building identity, confidence, and a sense of connection to their peers, families, and our special Mountain community. 💚
