Years 5 & 6 Parent Webinar
We are pleased to invite all Years 5 and 6 families to our upcoming webinar: Thriving Through Secondary: The TMC Way.
This special online event will offer an insight into the Secondary journey at Tamborine Mountain College – from Year 7 through to Year 12. Whether you're beginning to think about the transition from Primary or planning for your child’s senior years, this session is designed to provide clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of what TMC has to offer.
During the webinar, we’ll explore:
- What everyday life looks like as a Secondary student at TMC
- The wide range of subject offerings, including ATAR, VET, and distance education options
- How our smaller class sizes allow for personalised learning and strong teacher-student relationships
- Academic mentoring, after-school tutoring, and tailored pathways to support student aspirations
- Leadership, co-curricular, and sporting opportunities available to all students
- Our ROAR program and whole-school approach to student wellbeing and personal growth
We’ll also discuss how TMC prepares students for both university and career pathways, with career planning beginning in Year 10 and continuing through the senior years.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea - Term 2
We are incredibly proud of our Secondary Student Representative Council (SRC) for taking the initiative to host a fundraiser for the Cancer Council next Term. Their dedication to making a positive impact in our community is truly inspiring!
On Friday, May 16th, TMC students will be holding an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising vital funds for cancer research, prevention, and support services. Students will also be selling items on the day to raise money.
Every dollar raised makes a difference, and we encourage our TMC community to get behind this fantastic cause! You can support our students' efforts by donating here: https://www.biggestmorningtea.com.au/.../TamborineMountai...
Let's show our SRC how proud we are of their commitment to helping others!
Easter Bonnet Parade
What a cracking time we had at the TMC Prep to Year 2 Easter Bonnet Parade! Our youngest students paraded with pride, showing off their egg-cellent creativity in a spectacular display of colourful, handcrafted bonnets, every hat was a masterpiece!
The smiles were as bright as the Easter sunshine, and the joy was contagious as students and staff gathered to celebrate this much loved tradition. A huge hoppy thank you to our wonderful parents and caregivers for helping bring these bonnet creations to life!

Red Cross Pillowcase Program
On Tuesday last week, the Year 3 students were lucky enough to have the Red Cross visit to deliver their Pillowcase Program. This program is aimed at helping children prepare for, cope with and respond to an emergency. Because of where we live and go to school, we're experts!
Today marked a special milestone for the Red Cross - 10 incredible years of the Pillowcase workshops across Australia. To help us all recognise this incredible milestone, we were treated to some very special guests, as well as a delicious cake! Even 'Big Ted' came for a visit!

Bands Blossoming
TMC's bands - Senior Band, Junior Band and Yr 4 Band - have had a big term!
Our Senior Band has hit the ground running, preparing three pieces for the upcoming TMC 30th Anniversary Celebration/Open Day/ArtsFest in May, including a combined item with the primary Songbirds choir, and a Japanese piece to celebrate World Expo 2025 in Japan. Our after school rehearsal last week was a key step in our preparations - well done students, and thank you parents!
Junior Band students will perform at the Open Day for the first time in 2025, and have been preparing two world music items, including the Japanese folk tune, "Sakura", meaning "cherry blossom". It's been wonderful seeing our students grow, with our Yr 5 students taking a great leap forward from their Yr 4 Band days, and our Yr 6 students stepping up to take the lead.
After instrument allocation, this term saw our Yr 4 Band students focus on learning to read and play their first three notes in small group lessons. We began full band rehearsals soon after, using the time to review our learning. Students are now focused on learning their next notes, and performing a duet and band piece together at our Beginners Music Concert in Term 2.
