On Monday of this week, Year 11 were joined by members of the Queensland Fire Service, Josh and Joe, for a talk on driver safety. The visit saw the students engage in discussions and videos regarding the Fatal Five, Distraction, Drink Driving, Fatigue, Speeding and Dangerous Behaviours. The benefit of having the men and women who have to respond to incidents on our roads come in and speak to our students can not be understated. The authentic and often confronting message that Josh and Joe conveyed, hammered home the need for young drivers and their passengers to approach being in a car as a serious responsibility.

Wednesday saw Year 12 celebrate their last day on campus at TMC. With the conclusion of the External Exam block, our Year 12s had the chance to celebrate and blow off some steam by participating in TMC's traditional Guard of Honour, receiving their Signature Lions and venturing down the mountain for some high speed hijinks at Slideways Gokarting Centre in Pimpama.  There were a few tears, lots of laughs and a great deal of reminiscing.  All in all it was a great way for the cohort to say farewell to their time at TMC.

This term 1 VIC have been learning to write recipes. They were amazing little chefs and followed their own recipes on how to make fairy bread.

This week, the year two classes were fortunate enough to have a visit from Carol-Max. R's, grandma. She spent time in the classroom discussing her experience as an artist and teaching various art techniques and styles, something the year 2's have been learning all about this semester. We finished the day with each student creating their own watercolour art piece inspired by flowers.

Hi College community, this week the students harvested and enjoyed eating our tomatoes and peas.

Last Friday, students in Primary attended the P-2 and 3-6 Swimming Carnivals held at our local Tamborine Mountain Pool. Despite the initial overcast and rainy weather, student participation, effort and sportsmanship was incredibly high. Students throughout the day participated in a range of events ranging from a 12.5m kickboard race all the way through to 50m events across all four strokes (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly).

We would like to thank all of our parents and college community for their attendance throughout the day as well as the below Secondary students who assisted in our carnival running smoothly and efficiently: Ethan L, Zain B, Maya G, Zara HD, Keira F, Addison M, Zeke V, Emily S, Callum S, Mason P and Caleb A.

In what was tough competition, Kyle came out on top as our overall House Winner across both carnivals. Congratulations to our winners and all those who participated in events throughout the day. We look forward to many of our students representing TMC next year in future events.
