Wednesday was a great day of sporting and cultural activities. After the success of the morning cross country, students enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment at TMC’s Got Talent. The event brought together a diverse range of talents, from comedy, singing, dancing, and music performances – we were even treated to a performance by our teacher rockband.
The judges were impressed with the high level of talent displayed by our secondary students. It was evident that each student had put in a lot of effort and hard-work to showcase their skills. The performances were brilliant, and Mrs Stevens shared how difficult it was to select the winners. The audience was equally impressed by the students' performances and it was wonderful to see our students receive such support and recognition from their peers.
Congratulations to the winners of the Talent Quest! Brody S in Year 12 was runner up with his vocal performance of Familiar and the TMC rockband, The Mission Critical, won with their rendition of Seven Nation Army.
I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the event, whether as a performer, host, judge, technical crew, staff, or a member of the audience. We are so proud of all the students who participated. Congratulations to all involved!

On Wednesday, TMC's two Junior B Debating teams began their season of argument, discussion and persuasion. The debates took place at All Saints Anglican College and both of our teams took the negative position on the topic of 'Early Birds are Better than Night Owls'. For most of TMC's debaters this was their first attempt at debating in the secondary competition and for some the first chance they have had to participate in competitive debating. Both teams performed extremely well and all the students took away lessons that they can implement into their cases for the next debate. Ultimately both teams had very narrow losses, being separated from their opponents by just 1 point. Well done to all who participated, you made your college proud.

The end of Term 1 2023 will be remembered as the day we welcomed our grandparents back to school. Our Primary students loved having our grandparents or special friends visit them on campus. Our visitors enjoyed the Prep - Year 3 Easter hat parade which was followed by classroom activities and a lovely shared picnic. What a beautiful way to end the term - sharing our learning spaces with our families is an absolute joy!
The Year 4 classes have been buzzing with excitement and finally this week they got to present their Enchanted Forest maze experience. We had numerous classes and teachers come through the drama rooms that had been set up to look like a forest, a dark cave and a witch's lair. The students stayed in character perfectly even though it was long and hot. Our 4 guides were particularly brilliant as they had to walk small groups of children through and help very young students feel at ease. Well done Year 4.
Mr Stuart Fern
Year 3 were fortunate to have Margaux, a French au pair, visit and share information about her town of Lille. She also helped the students compare differences and similarities between French and Australian school days. The students were able to speak to Margaux in French; introducing themselves and telling her how they come to school each day. Merci beaucoup Margaux !!

On Wednesday, the students of Year 6 visited the Year 1 classrooms. Throughout the term, we have organised buddy sessions between the two year levels for the purpose of forging community connections.
The visit on Wednesday was the last for the term. Year 6 students thoroughly enjoyed helping the students of Year 1 create Easter Bonnets for Friday's parade.
Thank you to the Year 1 teaching team - Ms Scholes, Ms Thompson and Mrs Lewis - for inviting us into your space. We look forward to future events as part of our buddy program!

Happy end of term 1! Year 3 had an award-filled week.
We are so terribly proud of the first group of students to reach their level 3 merit awards!
Mr Stevens came to our class to present the awards and everyone was excited and proud.
A number of year 3 students also received ribbons and medals for their achievements in the Cross-Country races held in week 8. We have some superfast runners in year 3!
