The night of Friday, July 28, heralds the second annual P&F Christmas in July!! Last year's inaugural event was the social event of the year and this year we hope even more of you can attend. It's time to get dressed up and have some fun.
Book the babysitters early as this is a night off from parenting - adults only!! And if you're well behaved you may also get a visit from Santa.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
Tamborine Mountain College will be trialling RollCall; a school bus travel management system.
RollCall leverages the latest software technologies to allow the College and bus company to track buses on school routes 4, 4B and 6, with the time, date and location.
New bus tags for students on these routes will be handed out to the students early next week. The tag attaches to the student’s backpack.
The Rollcall system trial will commence from Monday 5th June 2023 and will go live in Term 3.

Our Kookaburras Choir (Prep-Year 2), led by our fabulous music teacher Mr Schelbach, won the Bronze Award at last night's QYMA competition. Congratulations! We are so proud of you.
Come along to our next parent workshop designed for parents of students in Years 1-3 to learn more about how we teach literacy at TMC and how you can support your child at home. Learn ways to easily integrate literacy learning at home and get some tips on setting up a successful home-reading routine. Moving Day is finally here! This morning an extremely excited bunch of Year 3 and 5 students assisted the teachers in the big classroom move as the newly built classrooms were ready. Most of the bigger items had already been shifted by the teachers but the students’ book boxes and the contents of the tidy trays were their own responsibility. Everyone is so impressed by the light and spacious new rooms and the view of the gently rolling hill towards the ELC is an ongoing topic of discussion!We are very much looking forward to making this space our own for the remainder of the year!
This week the Year 3s started their maths unit on learning to tell time to the minute! We’re still confusing ‘to’ and ‘past’ every now and again but we’re getting there! We are also learning how to subtract and re-group (Mrs Kramer calls it 'borrowing from the neighbour'!)
On Thursday Year 3 enjoyed a very special presentation given by Ari and his parents, Elfrida and Adrian. Ari has type 1 diabetes and his mum and dad are often at school during class time to help Ari correct his insulin levels. They explained that 9 million people worldwide are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes! Ari showed us the different foods he can and cannot eat and he even demonstrated how to give an insulin injection on Rufus! Ari's parents told us that we need to look out for Ari and immediately tell a teacher when Ari looks shaky or pale and appears to have a lack of energy. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Ari! And a big thank you to Elfrida and Adrian for coming to our class!

This week the students started harvesting their carrots. They were a tasty treat at lunch. The students will be picking and eating their tomatoes soon - more photos when they ripen.
