Opti-MINDS Challenge
Monday this week saw the first meeting of our students to begin planning for their entry into the annual Opti-MINDS Sustainability Challenge.
The Opti-MINDS Challenge is an inclusive team challenge which empowers participants to “Think, Create and Communicate”. Students are given a scenario and must create a ten minute play in response.
The Opti-MINDS program provides the opportunity for students to collaborate within a team, to apply critical and creative thinking to unfamiliar contexts and to inform or persuade audiences. The program caters for a diverse range of learners and calls upon each team member to shine their light.
This year a selection of Year 6 and 7 students will rise to the Opti-MINDS challenge. It is our hope that this program will help to strengthen the connections between our upper primary and lower secondary students through sharing the unique and unforgettable Opti-MINDS experience.
The theme of this year’s challenge is “Resilience”. We have entered two teams this year with our students electing to tackle the challenges in the Language/Literature and Science/Engineering areas. We wish them luck in their Opti-MINDS quest to be “Unashamedly EXCELLENT!”.
