VACATION CARE
Over the June/July holidays Vacation Care enjoyed a program of fun activities. Professor Jellybean came for an incursion demonstrating how to make slime and rainbow fizzlers. I heard from many parents, educators and children that this was amazing especially since the children were able to take away what they made. We will definity book this experience again!
During Naidoc week at the end of the holidays many of the experiences planned had an indigenous element such as using some indigenous herbs in cooking experiences, playing indigenous games using skittles, balls in small groups.
PJ day and crazy hair dress up days delighted all ages having fun in silly activities eating popcorn while sipping hot chocolate together.
Be sure to book in early via the Colleges website for the next school holidays, this is available after week 7 of the term.
TERM 3 NEWS
We have welcomed 5 new families to Kindy and Pre Prep so far this term with several more having staggered starts over the next couple of weeks. This is super exciting for a new centre only 3.5 years old in a unique remote location to be full with only one position in VAL available.
At 3 years of age many of the children have not yet participated in care and education programs. The educators are working closely with the families and children to have a smooth transition to the centre. In some cases flexible attendance, ongoing amendments to the routine and revisiting experiences to support and promote the ‘Early Years learning Framework Outcomes’ have been implemented to develop children's:
