Into The Unknown
Last week, Prep to Year 2 partook in a Frozen 2 remake performance here at TMC. This performance was prepared over the course of many months. This dedication really showed through in the final performance which was a very special time for the teachers, students and parents to experience.
Prep students Collins Penwarden, Olivia Hunter, Elliav Bitran and Year 2 students Jennifer Smith, Harrison Davis, Leo Gonzales and Eden Wassell were interviewed with regards to the performance. When asked what the best part of being in the performance was, Collins stated that [her favourite part] was “Doing the Jennifer Swirls” which were inspired by Jennifer Smith, the lead actor. Correspondingly, Elliav answered saying that “I liked it because we have been working on it really hard,” showing the true effort and commitment put into every aspect of the performance. Eden responded with ‘I liked it because you would actually move around with the music and the music would tell you what to do.”
The teachers involved in this production were Ms Anna Ryall, Mr Stuart Fern and Ms Kathy Hyron, who guided each and every one of the students through this new and exciting opportunity. Overall, the teachers agreed that they were beyond proud and overcome with joy about their students’ efforts. Ms Ryall, Mr Fern and Ms Hyron all said that the students put in a tremendous effort, even through home based learning, by practicing for approximately two terms. Mr Fern then summed up everything perfectly by stating that the performance was "Confidence building wrapped up in dance." When asked what the Preps got from this wonderful event, Miss Ryall and Ms Hyron concluded that they learnt to follow choreography, work as a team and learn to move their body. These skills are things that the students can take with them in life and utilise in many different situations.
Finally, all Prep and Year 2 students were asked what they wanted to say to their teachers. To Mr Fern, Collins and Elliav said “I love you” and Olivia gave a heartwarming statement, saying “Thank you for teaching our practice and for all that you do.” To Miss Ryall, all Year 2 students expressed their gratitude by saying a big "Thank you." We are so proud of the performance produced and thankful for all teachers and students who put in countless hours of time and resources to bring the performance to life. Needless to say, everyone was blown away with this whimsical and enchanting production and can’t wait for more to come.
