On Monday, the 14th of January, Tamborine Mountain College had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the District Swimming Carnival for 2022. This year, two students from TMC participated and we are thrilled with their results. Year 10 student Zain Bartlett placed 3rd in all of his events, whilst Year 12 student, Kieran Quinn, placed 5th in all of his events.
When asked what it means for TMC to be involved in such an important event like this, Miss Fletcher, Sports Coordinator said, “It provides the opportunity for our swimmers to showcase their skills at a higher level”. She also stated that events such as these are all about having experience and are an overall “great day to connect with other schools and for our students to showcase their talents”.
Zain says that he finds happiness in times like these because he enjoys the adrenaline he gets when he races. He says “it is exciting going up on the blocks, diving in and racing people. There’s so much excitement." Furthermore, he believes that days like these are important as you are able to go and cheer others on, whilst seeing friends and cheering them on while they race also.
Overall, we are proud of these students for their tremendous effort. Congratulations Zain and Kieran on your results.
