Earlier this term…
Led by the incredible Mr. Jai Schelbach, a group of exceptionally talented students and staff came together to create an unforgettable show “Back to 1973” to relive the magic of iconic songs from 50 years ago.
The curtains lifted as TMC's music extraordinaire, Mr Schelbach took the stage with his funky rendition of Stevie Wonder's legendary track "Superstitious". Mrs. Horn, a force to be reckoned with, took us on a rollercoaster ride of laughter with her hilarious poetry titled "English Class with Mrs. Horn." Her words hit us like a slam dunk, leaving us in stitches and wanting for the comedic journey to never end.
But the surprises didn't stop there. The stage transformed into a paradise of harmonies as the immensely talented secondary choir (Teegan, Jacob, James, Rai - on guitar and vocals, Levi, Ava, and Eve) mesmerized us with their rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene".
The crowd erupted with anticipation as TMC's celebrity Rock band, "Mission Critical," took their positions. The stage was ablaze with energy as they unleashed an epic performance of Aerosmith's heart-stopping anthem, "Dream On." With Luca H dominating the drums, Ryan W shredding the lead guitar, Teegan adding her mesmerizing vocals, Mr. Schelbach on the keys, and the incomparable "Rock god" Mr. Talati taking charge of the vocals, the audience was transported to a realm of pure rock 'n' roll bliss.
For the grand finale, Mr J then took charge of the stage to lead the whole school through the iconic Aussie dance moves of Tina Turner’s epic ‘Nutbush’. It was a truly memorable experience that was enjoyed by all.
And yet another entertainment treat…
Secondary students were pleasantly caught off guard on Wednesday afternoon when they were treated with an impromptu performance of Queen’s “we will Rock you” by Mr. Andrews. He then wowed students with his side-splitting stand-up comedy and captivating storytelling that left everyone in stitches. Following his act, the headline performance by 'Mission Critical' had the crowd rocking to the tunes of "Seven Nation Army” and “Smells like teen spirit”. To top it all off, the entire secondary school joined in for an exhilarating game of "Simon Says," proving that even teenagers can embrace the fun and are not actually “too cool for school”.
