AB Paterson Public Speaking Competition
This week, students from Years 5-10 competed at the annual A.B. Paterson Speaking Competition. Congratulations to the Primary students involved: James H, Ariana S, Isobel S, Riley B and Mason G. They all spoke with confidence and represented the College proudly.
On Thursday evening, three of our Secondary students represented the College with Pride at the annual AB Paterson Public Speaking Competition. Nick B from Year 9 and Lily P and Ethan H in Year 10 went up against some stiff competition from schools across the Coast. Each speaker must speak for 6 minutes in Year 9 and 7 minutes in Year 10. They were judged on their content, structure, focus and purpose as well as their delivery and engagement with the audience.
I am happy to announce that both Nick and Lily were successful in placing in the top two of their heats and both will be competing on Thursday next week in the Year 9 and 10 Grand Final. Whilst Ethan was not successful in moving on to the next round he presented an excellent speech on the value of adversity. I would like to congratulate all three students on their efforts and wish Lily and Nick good luck in the finals where I am sure they will do themselves and the College proud.
