The local community and TMC families are invited to our annual Open Day, being held TOMORROW, Saturday, May 13, from 10am -2 pm. Please bring a friend, neighbour or relative to join in the fun!
Please note - If the TMC car park becomes full, overflow car parking will be available at the St John the Baptist Church, the next driveway after the tennis courts.
TMC has a Facebook group dedicated to the sale of second-hand College uniforms. You can join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/group...
It is a great place for our families to buy and sell uniform items. Please note the third rule of the group requests that items and money are not left with our reception team to facilitate transactions, as sales/purchases in the group are not handled by our staff. It would be ideal for parents to organise these transactions either at home or another suitable place.
The College hopes you find the second-hand uniform group useful in the coming years.

The Primary and Secondary SRC members are organising a dress up day to raise goods and funds for the AWLQ. Instigated by the students, the dress up day encourages students to dress up in costume of an animal of their choice.
Normally, we would ask students to bring in a gold coin, but for this event we ask all students involved to bring in much needed items for the AWLQ for either dogs or cats:
Students can either opt to dress in an animal costume or wear a shirt with a picture of an animal. This is NOT a 'free dress day' - all students participating should wear clothes with the animal theme. The secondary students will also be able to be involved in a bake sale on the day.
Please bring the donations to your Form teacher as soon as you like.
Thanks to Liam in Year 4 for the poster!

This week, the Year 12 English class had the opportunity to spend Wednesday morning watching Ridley Scott's famous Film 'Blade Runner'. This was a part of their Unit 4 studies where they will have to use the film as a stimulus to inform their creative writing later in the term. Popcorn, lollies and a movie, made a great start to a cold morning on the mountain.

This week's Junior B Round 3 Debates saw our young orators tackle the argument that Physical Activities in Schools Should be Optional. Both TMC 1 and TMC 2 both adopted the negative position and argued for the continuing compulsory inclusion of physical activity in Australian school curriculums. In a reversal of Round 2's results. TMC2 with Eve S, Eve H, Jack A and Ava K were successful against Somerset College in what was their first win of the season. Congratulations to the team and Ms Hanna Green who has taken over as their coach for the remainder of the season. TMC 1 Allirah H, Kai A, Annabel V and Angel W, were up against a strong year 8 team from AB Paterson and were narrowly defeated by 2 points 226 - 228, which goes to show how close their debate was. Overall it was another successful round for our Junior B teams. Next Round they will begin the short prep stage of the competition; an experience that will be both rewarding and challenging in equal measure.

On Wednesday Year 1 VIC and VAL had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate the upcoming Mother's Day.
The students created cards and performed a song especially for their mother's. The students absolutely loved having their parents come and visit.
We hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday.

On Monday, Kaboom Percussion duo, Lochie and Grace, visited our college to deliver an incredible performance that left a lasting impression on everyone present. The interactive session was filled with fun activities, including learning how to strike a "Blue Steel Pose" and exploring a range of handmade instruments.
Lochie and Grace's passion for music and percussion was evident in the way they performed on unconventional objects such as cups, milo tins, gravox, and paint buckets. The performance was a showcase of their exceptional talent, creativity, and ingenuity in bringing music to life.
The excitement and buzz around the Kaboom Percussion performance were palpable, with both children and adults equally impressed. The duo's ability to entertain and educate at the same time was remarkable. The performance was not only entertaining but also a valuable learning experience for the students.
Overall, the Kaboom Percussion performance was a huge success, and we are grateful for the opportunity to witness such a fantastic display of talent and creativity. The performance demonstrated the power of music in bringing people together, inspiring creativity, and creating unforgettable experiences.
