There are many paths you can take when you conquer a mountain. Some more treacherous than others, but each as rewarding because of what is gained at the end of the journey. Do not fret the difficult path because the difficulty of each journey is the perspective of the individual. A path that has never been travelled by an individual may seem easier until it is actually traversed by that individual.
What is your path for your future?
Your victory is your story. Do not measure your success by the standards of others. You have to feel satisfied with your efforts. Only you are aware of how much you have really worked for it. What does your Victory look like?

This week we have been busy on transition visits to the Prep classrooms, completing our scarecrow for the Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival and practicing our creative skills ready for Artsfest.
After a story with Ms Brown the children had a buddy partner from Prep to show them the ropes in the Prep classroom. Mr Stevens also came for a visit and a play getting to know the future Prep students. Whilst the Pre-Prep children were busy doing this it was Kindy’s turn to visit the Pre-Prep classroom for their transition visit. Mrs Ashley read a story called Muddy Paws Goes to School and we all learnt a new song called The Goldfish (Let’s Go Swimming) by The Laurie Berkner Band. An entertaining song that encouraged us to follow the actions and move our bodies! This is a favourite in the Pre-Prep group. Mr Jimmy & Mr Marek from our maintenance team helped us place our scarecrow on the roadside as it was a little bit heavy for the teachers and children. We had the opportunity to add some of the smaller pieces and make sure Dingle Dangle and Buttercup the cow were happy in their new surroundings. The children had also been doing some work around designing their own Scarecrow Trails, this developed fine motor, literacy and problem solving skills. We are excited to represent the College in the Scarecrow festival this year, please don’t forget to visit us. Whilst you are there we even have a QR code displayed that you can scan on your mobile phone to give you an auditory experience of Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. Well done to the Early Learning Centre and all the families that also helped to bring the resources together.
Kindy & Pre-Prep have been practicing some of their creative skills ready to put together their final pieces next week for Artsfest. We have taken the topic of self-portraits and will be representing these in both 2D and 3D forms using clay and paint. This week we learnt about self-portraits and had a turn at drawing our own using our own photo as a prompt. It was particularly tricky as the photo was cut in half vertically requiring us to draw the other side of our face. This was great for developing skills within symmetry and also looking closely at our features. We look forward to creating our masterpieces next week to enter into Artsfest at the College.
This week is National Child Protection Week, we invited in some police officers from our local station to come and chat with the children about how they keep us safe in our community. The police officers talked about how to call 000 in an emergency and the importance of knowing our address. They showed some of their protective equipment which included pepper spray! At the end of the visit we were able to check out the police car and were even treated to a demo of the very loud sirens. After we waved off our police friends we brainstormed as a group choosing 5 people that we can trust and turn to for help. We watched a short clip from the Daniel Morcombe Foundation that explained feelings and what we might feel like when we feel safe/unsafe to help us identify with these types of feelings. The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will be coming home to ask you their address!

Our TMC Equestrian State Team (Fuschia Criss, Cailtin Ward, Talia Criss, Sienna White and Primary rider Ava Byrnes) were awarded their TMC State Team T-shirts sponsored by Petite Horse and Rider and TMC.
They were also presented a TMC bucket of decorations for their horse stables. Interschool Queensland State Championship are running a competition for the best decorated school stables. TMC gave the students a bunting with their horse's name on the flags, printed information about their horse for the stable door, whirly winds for their stable doors (and the horses' entertainment), TMC bags, name tags for their horses' halters, and TMC ribbons and stickers.
