It has been an exciting term for all involved with Opti-MINDS! TMC had 35 students across 5 teams entered in the Brisbane South regional event. This year, our superstar facilitators were Mrs Haskins, Mr Holm, Mrs Horn, Mrs Sands and Mr Worton. Thank you to all facilitators - without you, our teams would not have had this wonderful opportunity!
On the 26th August, students travelled to Griffith University, Logan Campus, to present ten-minute plays that they had prepared over a period of seven weeks. We were thoroughly entertained by all TMC performances! As it turns out, the judges were impressed, too! Each of our five teams received special awards - and two of our teams have been invited to participate in the 2023 State Final in October!
It is always so wonderful seeing students engage with Opti-MINDS - it is a rich learning experience that fosters critical and creative thinking, develops performance ability, and builds the capacity to work collaboratively.
If you would like to see our state finalists perform, contact Mrs Horn for more information: dhorn@tmc.qld.edu.au. It would be great to have some familiar faces in the audience!
