Last Friday, 2024 College Captain Lily and Year 10 student Addison represented the College as a part of the Tamborine Mountain Chamber of Commerce. Throughout the year, both girls have been helping plan, organise and promote the Chamber of Commerce's annual Scarecrow Festival and last Friday they participated as judges for the competition. When asked what the value of an experience such as this holds, Lily and Addison both agreed that it provided insight into how the real world is run and organised and how important it is to have a strong team behind you when planning such big events. So congratulations to Lily and Addi for representing the College with dedication and pride.

In Week 3, Tamborine Mountain College came alive with the magic of Disney as students, teachers, and families gathered for the enchanting Disney 100 Lunchtime Concert. The event, held on 16th and 17th October, brought the timeless melodies of the Disney classics to life, leaving the audience captivated and thoroughly entertained (The 16th October also marked the 100 anniversary of the Disney Company).
The Disney 100 Concert featured a delightful medley of songs from Disney's extensive repertoire, showcasing the talents of the college's performers who breathed life into these beloved tunes. Thank you to Hanna Green, Jay Talati, Teegan M, Ava K, Haylen K, Justin Andrews, Stuart Fern, Millie Huber, Evie S and Ezra S for all your time and practice that you put into making this concert special. Finally, a big thank you to all the audience members for joining in on our final song “When You Wish Upon A Star”.
Mr Jai Schelbach
The College has a number of policies in place to deal with unexpected events. The following is an excerpt from our Bush Fire policy for families to be aware of:
Evacuation Procedure - Evacuation off-Campus
If notification is issued by the Rural Fire Brigade of PREPARE TO LEAVE, the College will evacuate. If an evacuation is initiated due to fire, the following steps are implemented:
The Principal will determine the time frame for parents to collect from the campus. i.e. 1 hour.
The Administrator contacts College parents via text message with instructions to pick up students by a set time. Any students not collected by the set time will be evacuated on school buses. School buses will drop remaining students at the advised emergency point from which parents are to collect students. For example, Long Road Sports Centre. Any remaining students at school closure time will be put on school buses if the normal route or access to the usual bus drop off is safe to do.

Today in Chemistry students have been busy learning about titrations. Titrations are an important skill in analytical chemistry to identify concentrations of unknown solutions. Students will be tested on their knowledge on their upcoming data tests. Please ask your child to explain the process of titrations and explain equilibrium graphs to you. Congratulations year 12 on a fantastic titration practical.

A big thank you to Fit Education for their site visit with the current year 10 Certificate II in Sport and Recreation class. Year 10 have successfully completed their certificate this year and Fit Education came to talk to students about opportunities within the fitness industry and further study that students are able to complete while they are at school. Students have really enjoyed the course and some are going on to further study in the area in 2024.
