Car Park Extension
The final phase of the car park development is now underway. The extension will cover the large space between the current car park and the front of the ELC, essentially doubling the car parking available. The additional car spaces will ease congestion in the mornings and afternoons, and provide our whole TMC community with better parking options.
To allow for this extension, the construction team have now taken possession of the 'reverse only' car spaces immediately to the left of the driveway entrance. It is expected that the construction will be completed before the start of the 2023 school year.
The College thanks our school community for demonstrating patience as we move into this construction phase. The short-term loss of a small number of car parks will result in a significant gain for all.

As part of our unit, Three Chords to Rule Them All!, Yr 5 have focused on learning to play three primary chords on the ukulele - C, F and G7 - on which many popular songs are based. We have explored The Lava Song, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Twist and Shout, La Bamba and Lean on Me.
You will see Yr 5 playing ukulele in our Primary-wide video recording of Lean on Me, which was a featured activity of the recent Harmony Week (a link to the video will be provided once editing is complete - watch this space!).
Yr 5 have also been broadening their use of ICT in Music. They have used Kahoot! and Google Forms for music theory quizzes, Chromebooks to record themselves playing ukulele for assessment, and have been manipulating rhythms in the Groove Pizza online program. Well done Yr 5!

Early Learning News
From the Early Learning Centre Director
Pre Prep have been learning to recall Nursery Rhymes focussing on the ‘Humpty Dumpty’ nursery rhyme in the lead up to Easter.
We learnt Humpty is an egg and explored rhyming words exploring an experiment with an egg hypothesising would the egg float or sink in the bowl of water. Thanks to one of our family members who shared through the Story park learning App that fresh eggs will sink and old eggs might float! The next day we found out when enough salt is added to the water, the saltwater solution's density becomes higher than the egg's, so the egg will then float!
Road Safety
VAL group continues to explore road safety after taking part in fire/lockdown drills last week.
A fun stop/go game was planned outside with the whole class on Thursday. Mrs Walsh showed either a red, green or orange traffic signal to the children and they responded by either stopping walking or going slow movements. With the increase in activity over at the construction site the children are dressing up in construction role play using many of the road safety signs to ensure the other children are safe in their play!
The Early Learning Centre wishes you all a wonderful holiday break with your family. If you are attending our Vacation Care program over the two weeks, have fun with the variety of experiences the educators have planned.
