Year 2 End of Term 3 Newsletter
End of Term Newsletter
This term has absolutely flown by! It’s been a term packed with exciting events, special celebrations and even a change of season. From Father’s Day, the Book Fair and all the fun of Book Week, to Teacher Aide Appreciation Day and Heads of School Appreciation Day, there has certainly been plenty happening around the College. Our Year 2 students have also enjoyed their much-anticipated excursion, along with the Show Day holiday and many other memorable moments along the way. It’s hard to believe we are already nearing the end of another busy and wonderful term!
A brief reminder of our last couple of events to wrap up the term.
Wednesday 16 September – Year 2 Decades Dress Up Day
To finish off our HASS learning this term, Year 2 will be stepping back in time! On Wednesday of Week 10, students are invited to come dressed in clothing inspired by any decade of their choice. They might choose the 1920s, 1950s, 1970s, 1990s or even a decade a little closer to home. The aim is simply to have some fun exploring how clothing and styles have changed over time while supporting our learning about the past. Normal safe dress expectations still apply. Students need to wear covered shoes and sun safe clothing and will also need a hat for break times. We are looking forward to a fun and busy end to the term with our Year 2 students!
Thursday 10 September - Movie Arvo
To celebrate our reading of Matilda by Roald Dahl, Year 2 students are invited to a special Movie Afternoon on Thursday 10 September from 3:00pm–5:15pm. Students will enjoy watching Matilda while making connections to themes of kindness, courage, friendship, curiosity and believing in ourselves. Students bring a small snack for themselves to enjoy during the movie (no sharing, please). To make the afternoon extra cosy, students may also bring one pillow and one pair of slippers. Please do not send a change of clothes or any other personal items.
Students will be ready for collection at 5:15pm. We’re looking forward to an afternoon of books, friendship and a little movie magic!
As we head into the final weeks of the term, we look forward to making the most of every moment together. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and encouragement. We hope all of our Year 2 families enjoy a well-deserved break when it arrives!
