NAIDOC Week 2020

Mon 9 Nov 12:00am - Fri 13 Nov 12:00am

Our staff have come up with some excellent activities to celebrate our Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people & cultures. Wednesday of that week is also Remembrance Day so we will have an Indigenous soldier focus, with a ceremonial video the senior Modern History students have made which the whole school can watch and participate in from their classrooms at 10.45am. This will include the Ode, last post, minute’s silence and national anthem. Please ensure your students participate in a respectful manner.

These are the key activities that are planned for NAIDOC Week:

Screening of Rabbit Proof Fence each Big Lunch in MK3 (Secondary)

Screening of Dust Echoes & related art activities(Primary)

Mural Project (Primary)

Boomerang Painting Competition (Secondary)

For Secondary, NAIDOC Week will be announced in the assembly video & we will have the above competitions and activities running. During Form each day there will be a short video featuring a differing focus (located on daily notices) to watch & discuss if time. We are also having a NAIDOC focus in ARC, HPE & Art lessons that week.
