International Students      CRICOS Provider 01823G#

International students are welcome at Tamborine Mountain College.   We take a small number of students from overseas countries and these students are accommodated with College families for a set weekly boarding cost.

Students are welcome at any stage of secondary schooling, but most are interested in the pre-university courses which are Years Eleven and Twelve.  Students need a good level of English for these courses. Some students choose to start in Year Ten.  Year Ten gives a good introduction to the study in Years Eleven and Twelve and gives additional time to develop English Skills.  Students may attend at any time over the Years Eight to Twelve depending on available places.

Student ages for Australian students are:

·         College Year Eight   - 12/13 years of age

·         College Year Nine    - 13/14 years of age

·         College Year Ten      - 14/15 years of age

·         College Year Eleven - 15/16 years of age

·         College Year Twelve - 16/17 years of age

Courses at Tamborine Mountain College start at the end of January each year and go through to the start of December.  The major vacation is from early December to late January.  There are short vacations in April, June and September each year.

For International Students, the College fee is $11,850 (AUD) with a student levy of $220 per year.  Students are billeted with local families at a cost of $220 per week.  Students need about $10 per week to cover incidentals, such as excursions and special events.  There is also an annual camp which costs around $200.  Uniform cost depends on the number of items required, but a figure of $300 for Years Eight, Nine and Ten, and about $500 for Years Eleven and Twelve would be representative.  A textbook hire scheme is in place at a cost of $220 per year.

International Tour Groups

Throughout the year the College has visiting international students, usually Japanese tours, and College families are asked to host them for a five to seven day period.  This is an excellent cultural experience and aids the College with fundraising.

College students appreciate the opportunity for such a cultural exchange and love not only learning about other cultures, but also sharing Australian culture and customs with others.
