ENROLMENTS

Tamborine Mountain College is a unique educational institution offering personalised and professional attention.  Applications for Scholarships (academic/sporting merit) and Bursaries (financial hardship) are available until 31st May, making private education very affordable.  However, enrolment can take place at any time of year, from any locality in which you live, providing places remain available. It is necessary to complete an Enrolment Form, including a non-refundable enrolment fee of $50.

We invite you and your family to attend an interview.  It is an opportunity to learn about our teachers and students who make this College what it is - a safe learning environment of approximately 100 students, encouraging students to meet their full potential.

A Student Levy of $220 exists to cover photocopying, student materials, internet access, ambulance, insurance (medical), sporting equipment, first aid supplies and annual College DVD.

Parents are asked to meet the cost of bus trips, theatre visits and visits to Brisbane.  There is an annual camp which costs approximately $200 and a textbook hire scheme is in place at a cost of $220 a year. Uniforms are purchased directly through the College.

Eduquest

Students currently in Year Seven are invited to apply for a place in the annual Eduquest competition.

Year Seven students from local primary schools face challenges in Maths, Orienteering, Art, Science and Sport Fitness, as well as general knowledge in the Eduquiz Grand Finale.

Eduquest is a great day for students from different primary schools to come together in a real community event. It is an opportunity for students to display intelligence, creativity, knowledge and performance.

There were some serious prizes on offer at the 2006 Eduquest to acknowledge the worth of the event.  The overall winning school was TMSS, receiving the Eduquest Trophy and a $1000 cheque from Tamborine Mountain College, with medallions for all team members. The Eduquest Spirit Trophy went to Silkwood Steiner and all team members were awarded Spirit Certificates.

1st placed student winner was from Silkwood Steiner primary school, receiving a Full Scholarship at the College for Yr 8-12 (valued at $18,000) and a College uniform (Yr 8 outfitted valued at $500).

It is not only students who enjoy the day - teachers and parents attending last year's event all commented on the quality of the activities and the great atmosphere generated.  Everyone particularly enjoyed “Teachers on the Spot” which only went to show that the students were not the only ones that were clever!

Congratulations to all 2006 winners.  Eduquest 2007 will be held on Thursday 17 May. Remember that May is your opportunity to apply for a Scholarship – academic or sporting ability – or Bursary – financial assistance.  Everyone can be a winner with excellent education at Tamborine Mountain College.

Orientation Day

Orientation Day is held in September for Year 7 students intending to join the College for secondary education.  Other students are also welcome to explore College life and education.  It is a fun day with a difference – education comes alive on the Time Machine Carriage.
